Front Disc Brakes and How to Replace Them - EricTheCarGuy
Well here you are after many requests for this one it's finally here. I shot this last spring but I've been saving it for you as a special present. In this episode we go over the principals of operation and replacement of a basic front disc brake set up. It all starts with a shaking steering wheel and ends with new brakes. I think this is a pretty good video overall and gives the important information you would need to perform this task yourself. A couple of notes. I didn't have time to go over how to isolate a brake pulsation between front or rear in this video. Also, I had a very easy time of getting these rotors off, I can assure you that this is not often the case, I could probably do a video just on removing difficult rotors alone. I may do a video on that in the future as I collect some different scenarios for you. --- Click below and Stay Dirty Visit me at EricTheCarGuy.com http://ericthecarguy.com/ Visit EricTheCarGuy Forum http://www.ericthecarguy.com/forum/default.aspx Visit my Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/EricTheCarGuy --- The Blog http://ericthecarguy.blogspot.com/ And you can always leave your questions and comments for me to answer here as a video or text response, I'm here for you after all. How To Diagnose and Replace a Bad Brake Caliper -EricTheCarGuy
Visit me at: http://www.ericthecarguy.com/ Brakes are a common DIY project but I often get asked about brake calipers and how to check if they're bad. This video not only shows how to find a bad brake caliper but also how to replace it. It is recommended that you do both sides when you find a faulty brake caliper but it's not necessary. If you're on a budget you can just do one but you might experience a pull to one side when braking if you do this. Otherwise you can follow the steps in this video for caliper replacement. I use my 1997 Subaru Legacy L in this video but the principals and techniques apply to many vehicles both domestic and imported.
