In Japan, few people know that Lexus is putting a lot of luxury cars on the road.
That's because Lexus, the luxury division of Toyota, doesn't produce its models for the Japanese market. In this segment, the Japanese prefer European cars. So Lexus concentrates on American and European driving enthusiasts. The IS 250C is a convertible that, thanks to its hard top, can be driven year round. Drive it! puts the sleek machine through its paces.

Test it! The BMW 5-series GT | drive it
The BMW 5-series Gran Turismo was a real eye-catcher at the Frankfurt International Motor Show in 2009, and it is still getting looks now. From a technical standpoint, the luxury hatchback's design has been derived from BMW's 5- and 7-series, but it still has distinguished looks that catch the eye. The world had never seen a BMW 5-series like this one. It was the first BMW model to have side windows without frames. 2012 Volvo C70 Inscription Polestar Test Drive & Convertible Car Review
http://www.autobytel.com/volvo/c70/2012/ The 2012 Volvo C70 is the only convertible in the auto manufacturer's line-up. While the Swedish automaker Volvo is best known for creating safe cars, one thing they have shown with the 2012 Volvo C70 hard top convertible is that the Scandinavians also know how to have fun. The C70 blends the styling of a two door coupe with the experience of an open air sports car aimed at those individuals that are looking for more than mere transportation and expect a certain level of luxury and elegance from their new purchase.
The C70 is powered by a 2.5 Liter turbocharged five cylinder engine that produces 227 HP and 236 lb-ft of torque in stock trim and returns an EPA estimated 18 MPG around town and as much as 28 MPG on the highway starting at $40,450. However Volvo also offers an Inscription model, starting at $44,350, that upgrades not only the Volvo's output but also adds to the look and feel of the luxury drop top.
Starting off with a simple ECU retune, the Swedish racers over at Polestar were able to extract a total of 250 HP and 273 lb-ft of torque from the C70 without voiding the warranty or burning any extra MPG. On the outside the C70 Inscription wears a set of 18 inch high gloss wheels to match the brilliant new front grill and receives a set of LED daytime running lights. On the inside, occupants are greeted with a leather wrapped dash and matching instrument panel complete with unique interior accent stitching as well as a sport steering wheel with aluminum insert and a pair of sport pedals to finish off the C70's transformation.

Lexus IS review - CarBuyer
Full review: http://www.carbuyer.co.uk/reviews/lexus/is/saloon/review
The current Lexus IS is renowned for its reliability and build quality. And while there's much to admire, it falls short of its German rivals in a number of ways. For a start there are only three engines: one diesel and a pair of thirsty petrol units. It's quite cramped in the cabin and the interior design lacks sparkle. However, owners constantly rave about its comfort and Lexus' dealer service. The high-performance IS F is a high-revving alternative to the BMW M3.
