Voici la très fameuse Aston Martin V8 vantage, rendu céébre dans le monde entier à la suite du film "Tuer n'est pas joué", un James Bond tout en couleur.
Le moteur V8 ayant révélé être une unité extrêmement fiable et robuste, il était clair qu'il y avait des possibilités d'une augmentation significative de la puissance qu'il peut délivrer. L'Aston Martin V8 Vantage a été annoncé le 18 Février, 1977. Arbres à cames révisés, boîte à air, soupapes d'admission plus grandes et les carburateurs, collecteurs d'admission de nouveaux et bouchons différents, ont revendiqué pour fournir une augmentation de puissance de 40% et le couple de 10%. La boîte manuelle ZF même que dans la berline V8 était de l'équipement standard. Ce fut suffisant pour donner une vitesse de pointe d'environ 170 mph et accélérer de 0-60 mph en 5,3 secondes.
L'augmentation de puissance signifie que des améliorations aérodynamiques ont dû être apportées. Cela comprenait un spoiler sur la queue, un aileron de profondeur sous le nez et obturées radiateur et prise d'air du capot.
