V8 Miata racing at Infineon
This is my V8 powered miata racing at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA. This
is a NorCal NASA event. There were only 2 cars in Super Unlimited, so they
started us right behind the CMC, AIX and AIX extreme classes. I also catch
some of the Honda Challenge cars that did a standing start before our
Country drive in an LS3 Miata
Cruising around in a 480 horsepower Miata enjoying a
late autumn afternoon. No traffic laws were harmed while making this
video- really! The wide angle camera makes it seem a lot faster than it is.
Video is from a GoPro Motorsports Hero HD camera using the "open back" case
with the holes in the case taped off with packing tape. This is the best
solution I've found to capture the Exhaust "music" without too much wind noise.

Chevy Vortec lifter & valve tap how to repair it
this video has info on how to fix a severe valve tap or sticky lifter using
1 quart of automatic transmission fluid with 4 quarts of oil. the trans
fluid is a high detergent that loosens up sludge build up in a motor from
lack of oil changes, you will be amazed at what pouring 1 quart of trans
fluid in a neglected motor can do. the truck in this video got a double
treatment and now runs smooth with no taps and the check engine light went
out as soon as I started it. also after the second treatment I changed the
oil & filter and the clumps of sludge that were left in it broke down into
the oil from the trans fluid and it flushed it out. I
I realize I bash fram oil filters in this video and any filter wouldnt have
helped in this case because the truck was so neglected any filter would
have pluged up. howerver,,, Fram in my opinion is cheap crap.and over the
years of having hundreads of cars I can honestly say if you have 2
identical engines 1 using Fram the other using Wix or Napa the Fram motor
will die prematurely due to lack of filtering.
Coolant Leak (Part 1) GM 5.0L & 5.7L Vortec Engines
Coolant leaks on GM 5.0L & 5.7L Vortec Engines built between 1995 and 2002
can some times be attributed to the stock plastic intake manifold gaskets.
This video shows the replacement of the Intake Manifold Gaskets on a 5.0L
Vortec Engine in a 1997 GMC K1500 Sierra Pickup.
