The Stig Rolls Robin

The Stig Rolls a Robin. Savage! Information on Robin to allow youtube to show this video worldwide: The Reliant Robin is a small three wheeled car formerly manufactured by the Reliant Motor Company in Tamworth, England. Despite its size, by being a three-wheeler with an official weight below 450 kg (992 lb), the Robin can be driven by holders of a B1 category licence[2] or car licence in the United Kingdom, and registered and taxed at motorcycle rates, which gives considerable savings(55 GBP per year) over a conventional car. The single wheel in the front steers, while the engine (also in the front) drives the rear axle. The Robin was first manufactured in November 1973, a direct replacement for the Reliant Regal. The final original version of the Robin rolled off the production line in 1981, when the model was replaced by the restyled Reliant Rialto. The vehicle was also produced under licence in Greece by MEBEA between 1974 and 1978. It was also manufactured in India by Sunrise Automotive Industries Limited as Badal.

Jeremy Clarkson - Who is Britain's Fastest Off-Road Celebrity
Copyright @ Jeremy Clarkson's DVD "Duel" Welcome to my new DVD, Duel - it's all about challenges and some big questions. Which car makes the most smoke while going sideways - a Lamborghini Murcielago SuperVeloce or a Vauxhall VXR8 Bathurst S? What is best at drifting? - the Jaguar XKR, the Lotus Evora, Audi's R8 V10 or BMW's M3? To find out, I globe-trot from sun-drenched Spain to Silverstone via Oxfordshire and Swindon. There is serious science too. Can The Stig drift a car while wearing wellies? Can I corner in flippers? Can Formula One ace Anthony Davidson slide a car - in ice skates? Who is the best at off road driving? - Newswoman Kate Silverton, rugby's Matt Dawson, singer Ronan Keating - or me? Which is fastest - a car or a man? Find out as the Aston Martin v12 Vantage sprints against flying rugby winger Tom Varndell in a 100 metre drag race. And at last, The Stig goes head to helmet against The Tiff. The white-suited racing driver and I join forces against Vicki Butler-Henderson and Tiff Needell. There's carnage in an auto-test and I push the 190mph Aston Martin DBS Volante to the limit against Vicki in a £150,000 Ferrari California. I also pick a Ford Focus RS for a road race against his'Stigness in a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder. Who will win? There's more. What will hit the ground first from 150 feet up a penny or a Ford Scorpio? Can the Stig ride a bicycle? And can a man with a rubbish car get it home using no fuel at all. just a catapult. Meanwhile, there's a terrible accident with a Morris Marina and a piano and everything else explodes including Ronan Keating.

Starting the 1909 Blitzen-Benz, UNEDITED, @ Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance
The Blitzen-Benz was purpose built to do just one thing, to break speed records (not racing), and it did repeatedly from 1909 through 1911. (Edited version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ga2HtUHzUuw ) Its speed of 228.1km/h (141.73mph) on April 23rd, 1911, driven by Bob Burman at Daytona Beach, stood as a record until 1919. Twice the speed of the fastest airplane, (12 April, 1911, Alfred Leblanc @ 69.442mph/111.801kph in a Blériot Blériot) and even shattering the record speed of 210km/h set by a locomotive in 1903. This record was not even officially broken in an airplane until 1920! Of the six originally built, this is one of only two that exist today, and is displayed at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, Germany. While the extended and nuanced effort required to start the Blitzen-Benz on a cool coastal morning can try the patience of some viewers, its historical significance and ground-breaking engineering brilliance still place it amongst the greatest motor-vehicle achievements of all time, and the dozens witnessing this effort felt it was one of the highlights of many great moments at Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance 2011. Here's a great collection of vintage and modern images of the Blitzen-Benz and other historic speed record contenders: http://www.flickriver.com/photos/tags/blitzenbenz/interesting/ Specs: displacement 21500 cc / 1312.0 in³ bore 185 mm / 7.28 in stroke 200 mm / 7.87 in compression 5.8:1 power 149.1 kw / 200 bhp @ 1600 rpm specific output 9.3 bhp per litre bhp/weight 137.93 bhp per tonne
