Broken engine diagnosis on Craftsman DLS3500
In the last video we took a look at the new broken DLS3500, in this video
we take a look at the engine to figure out why it's locked up. Very
interesting what we found, very interesting indeed....
UPDATE Craftsman tractor snow plow

Blizzard 2011, Craftsman PGT 9500 (Simplicity Prestige), 42" 2-stage Snow Thrower
Blizzard 2011, Beloit, WI, USA, Craftsman PGT 9500 (Simplicity Prestige),
42" 2-stage Snow Thrower attachment, 200 lbs rear carrier weights, 100 lbs
rear wheel weights, rear wheel chains; no problems going uphill into deep
snow over ice. After making this video, I noticed that I didn't have the
throttle turned all the way up. I set it up to operating speed and the next
driveway went even faster. I
cleared 7 driveways and made a path down 2 blocks of road to free 3 stuck
cars in 6 hours on 1 tank of gas.
The Murray tractor from the Dump
This is the Murray we found at the dump. It was flipped over in a scrap
metal pile, had no wheels, and someone dumped a huge box of silverware all
over it. But when I saw that 14.5 OHV Briggs on it, I figured what the hell
-lets take it. 4 old wheels and one used starter later, it ran and drove
fine. It ran so well in fact, that we decided to sell the motor. So I
thought I'd take a video of it before I brought it into the garage to take
it's engine off and replace it with a 12hp B&S from another Murray.
Uncovering the original '85 Roper Lawn Tractor
Purchased brand new April 29th, 1985, this Roper LT11 was used for 19
mowing seasons until being retired in the fall of 2003 after Dave's father
passed away. It has been sitting in the garage since then covered with a
tarp. Now, in April of 2009, we pull all the junk out of the back of the
garage and take a look at this now 24 year old machine.
Starting up a 1985 Craftsman 11hp rear engine riding mower after 3 years
This is 'ol reliable, -a 1985 Murray built Craftsman II 11hp Briggs &
Stratton rear engine riding lawn mower with a 30" deck and and an 8-speed
shift-on-the-fly transmission. I got this tractor in 2002; some guy down
the street threw it out. Anyway, I fixed it up and used it at my folks
house to cut the grass until 2005 when they had a bigger house built on the
property, so since then this thing has sat right where you see it. Next
spring I'll probably sell her because this lawns too small for a tractor
with all this house on it now. This little tractor never gave me any
trouble really, one of the best I've had. I needed to move it so they could
till the soil for a garden, and I was anxious to see how it would do after
sitting (drained of it's gas of course) for 3 years. Oh, and theres a metal
cover that goes over the engine compartment, I think it's in the shed.
Some rusty old tractors we got for free
A lot of this is junk, but there is at least one diamond in the rough here.
It was a sight unseen must-take-all kind of deal, so we went with
Sterling's diesel Dodge truck and a borrowed trailer and pulled these
relics out of a poison ivy filled muddy yard and brought them to tractor
land. Oh yeah, and Dave got a bed liner for his Chevy for free too.
MTD Transaxle Basic Rebuild (Replacing all Bearings) Part 2 of 2
Part 2 of 2 Rebuilding / replacing bearings in my transaxle transmission
off my older model MTD mower, transaxle model 717-1050 or 717-761 and
several other models are built basically the same, but may have different
part numbers for the bearings. This is the type of transmission that has
forward neutral reverse, no actual gears in it. I show all the part numbers
at the end of of this video of all parts i replaced in this 2 part video.
Thanks for watching!!

Sears Craftsman FF20 Monster Garden Tractor - first start
Here is our new tractor, a Sears FF20 tractor powered by a 20hp opposed
twin Onan engine. This was/is the biggest tractor ever produced by sears.
It has a direct drive Eaton hydro transmission which drives huge 26" rear
wheels. This thing could crush the GT5000 if it had the chance, and
weighing in at 850lbs, that would be no problem for it. The paint job
sucks, as does the seat. But for $200 it was a well worth it!
