Buick made this two seater from 1988 to 1991. It also had a convertible variant first offered in 1990. It was fairly advanced, offering fully independent suspension
and 4 wheel disc brakes. Cadillac also offered a two seater Allante. Two passenger cars have not had a very successful run here in the U.S. The exception is Corvette, one of a kind!
1990 Buick Reatta
I'm guessing this is a 1990 model. Nice black paint makes the car look a little sinister...essentially these were hand built, and evidently never sold in the numbers to make them profitable. It's a shame, but I guess inevitable in Detroit that economics are the final arbiter.
1990 Buick Reatta Convertible
Buick was attempting to include younger people in its customer base..but as with most two seat cars here in the U.S., sales were disappointing. Introduced in 1988 as a hardtop, this is the first year a convertible version was offered. In 1991, production ceased. One might argue that if a turbo version and four speed manual were offered, the car might have had a real following.
1951 Mercury Convertible
I don't know of a nicer one! Flawless! Check the beautiful paint job, the top, the interior. It has nice touches like power windows and after-market air conditioning. This car could take you anywhere you wanted to go in retro style!
1977 Olds Cutlass Salon
I mention early in the video that this is a 1976 model...an alert viewer notes that it is a 1977 model. The grille is the giveaway! This is an expensive and unusually optioned car. It has Hurst T-tops, as well as a 260 c.i. V8 with a rare 5 speed overdrive manual transmission! This was in the day of the usual 4 speed! This car looks brand new..and the white exterior is very nicely complimented by the blue interior. It also has A/C, very handy in the south!
1988 Buick Reatta Walk around
Another one of my odd GM vehicles. This one is a Buick Reatta 2 seater hard top. Features a CRT touch screen system (same as the one found in the old Rivieras) that controls the climate control, radio, diagnostics and several other features. This is one of those cars you don't see every day!
1988 Buick Reatta Start Up, Exhaust, and In Depth Tour
In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 1988 Buick Reatta. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
1990 Buick Reatta convertible
1990 Buick Reatta convertible in near-new condition. 2,437 convertibles built with far less on the road today and of those remaining, very few look as good as this inside and out. This classic makes a statement.

1990 Buick Reatta - Full Power - 89K Miles - GONE!
The sporty little Buick Regattas' were "hand made" luxurious sports coupes produced at the Reatta Craft Centre in Lansing, Michigan. They were a downsized version of the Riviera with all of its amenities. With only 89K miles on this car, there are many more pleasant driving miles to go on its 3.8L V-6 OHV 12V Fuel Injected engine with 4 speed turbo Hydromantic transmission. This high-geared transmission makes for an extremely capable and comfortable long-distance high speed cruiser with an 18 gallon fuel tank, as well as a nice car on an evening out for just the two of you.
Features include but are not limited to, A/T, P/S, P/B, driver's front airbag, dual 6-way power seats, fog lights, power heated mirrors, keyless entry system, power antenna, power brakes, rear window defroster, premium audio system, 15 inch alloy wheels, 4-wheel ABS, electronic systems and sensors, date reminder, trip computer, anti-theft alarm system, independent suspension, leather seating, cruise control, tilt steering wheel, A/C, dual illuminated visor mirrors, remote releases for trunk, fuel filler door and glove box, power windows, power door locks, touch screen controlled 8 speaker AM/FM/Cassette Audio System and climate control functions.
With styling this unique and clean but conservative, it is easy to see why the Reatta, manufactured for only 3 years, has secured a niche as a modern collectible Buick! Beauty, power and all the amenities for the low price of only $5,950.

1991 Buick Reatta. Declaired a future classic by Motor Trend this is a rare example of this car. Styling cues included hidden headlamps and a bubbleback rear window. The Reatta sported its own unique body style and was crafted with an attention to hand finishing uncommon for a mass-production automobile. The Reatta is powered by a General Motors' 165-horsepower 3.8-liter V6 mated to a 4-speed OD automatic transmission. Fully independent suspension, Four-wheel disc brakes with antilock control were standard. Rated at 27 MPG highway the Reatta is powerful yet efficient. See video of this car on youtube.
