2013 Ford Taurus SHO Road Test
Can you drift a 2013 Ford Taurus SHO like Nascar racer Carl Edwards does in the commercial? I tried and couldn't. This press car didn't have the ESC button in the center console to disable the stability management system so try as I might, the car would never get sideways. I did however find out how great this car is at being a world class sedan. Around town and in the canyons, this 4400 pound vehicle feels flat out nimble. It's also pretty fast, 0-60 in 5.2 seconds will get your attention and the immensely capable all wheel drive system, huge brakes and fantastic suspension will keep it. I'll go on record for loving the eco-Boost engine platform. The 3.5L Twin turbo V6 is only mildly laggy at the low end but more than makes up for that once it starts to rev. The practical side is that you could use all 365 horsepower in this car and still manage fuel mileage in the mid 20's and then on the highway settle in at about 30 MPG. Would I own one, heck yes...as long as it had that ESC button in the center console to disable the stability management systems so that I could four wheel drift the tires off the thing.
