1965 AMC Rambler American 220 - 343 V8 - Fully Restored
I thought you'd like a look at this 1965 AMC Rambler American 220. You will have a tough time finding a nicer Rambler than this one! It has been upgraded to a 343CID V8 engine that has been bored .030 over and rebuilt with all new parts only 2,000 miles ago. The Borg-Warner M12 automatic transmission was rebuilt at the same time and is connected to a new Auburn posi trac rear axle with 3.31 gears. New parts used in this two year old restoration include cam, lifters, intake manifold, carburetor, aluminum radiator, Flowmaster Exhaust, and paint. Thanks for taking a look at it, I appreciate it! After being without an AMC Javelin or AMX for over a year, I was still morning the lose of me 1969 Big Bad Green Javelin I sold in 2008, YouTube link bellow, an hour before the sale. I had purchased a nice 68 AMX afterwards, and as nice as the car was, the feeling just wasn't there. After only putting a couple of 100 miles on it in a year, and since I had no attachment to the car, I sold it in February of 2011. I thought my phase of AMC's was over! NOT! I spotted a AMX on Ebay classifieds about a week and half ago. The wheels where in motion! Since we where both in different states, It took a lot of hard work, on the sellers, and my part, but the deal was done. I purchased a 1969 Big Bad Green AMX on March 2, 2012, which has 84000 documented miles on the odometer. It is a 390 go-pack car, and has a built 390, automatic with a shift kit, factory part numbered Edlebrock manifold. I purchased it less than 3 hours from my house here in South Western, PA. Kinda known as the rust bucket of the world for new and old cars alike. So rust is a BIG issue in these parts. Turns out that this was a rust free Florida car with ZERO rust anywhere. It went from Florida, to NC, with the last document mileage of 78000 miles in 1987. It now has 84000 miles. So it has been driven 6000 miles in the last 25 years. Tony loaded the car so I could video, As he puts the car in gear, the drive wheels SNAP into action. I had to move the tie-down straps. So sorry for the shaky hand held movements there. My wife was so excited, she wanted to sit in the car for the 3 hour trip home.
