I have received several emails asking various questions about the car. I will post the most common ones here:
Q: Is the car for sale?
A: No. I sold it in May as a result of ever-increasing motoring costs. I didn't want to sell it, but I had little choice.
Q: Did you replace the car with another ex-police one?
A: No. It was replaced with a motorcycle to cut costs.
Q: Why buy an ex-police car?
A: Quite simply, I always wanted a Volvo T5, and buying an ex-police one was the cheapest option. The added benefits were Volvo's infamous police package (a quick Google search will provide details) along with the meticulous servicing these cars receive.
Q: Is it reliable?
A: YES! There were various niggling engine management faults with this car, but it never let me down in the five years I owned it., and always started first time. Even WITH the faults, it never lacked performance either.
Q: How much do you want for the blue lights?
A: They were removed prior to the car being sold. They were then sent back to the manufacturer for secure disposal. I'm told that the light kits in this video would cost around £200 direct from the manufacturer. Pricey toys!
Q: How fast is it?
A: Very.

To everyone making negative - not to mention offensive - comments regarding this video, STOP WASTING YOUR TIME. This is a genuine police-specification Volvo V70 T5, and the blue lights were left in situ when the vehicle was decommisioned in December 2006. THEY WERE DISCONNECTED AT THE TIME THE CAR WAS PURCHASED. The police do not, and will not send a vehicle to auction with functional equipment or police graphics displayed. The grille lights seen in this video would have been installed by the police workshops when the vehicle was commissioned for service. I have not spent any time or money installing these lights. I'm 30 years old, not 10. The car is still owned by me and is used on a daily basis. The lights were only connected to see if they still worked. They have been disconnected since this video was posted.
To the anoraks making daft comments about the flash patterns: GET A LIFE. Different police forces use different setups, which often means a whole range of visual equipment will be used. Just because is doesn't flash the way YOU want it to, doesn't mean it's not genuine! Surrey Police are still using HALOGEN grille lights on some of their Volvos. Devon & Cornwall have both white AND blue grille LED's on their BMW's. Some divisions of the Met are still only equipped with a rotating magnetic beacon.
As I said in the previous description, I was asked to post this video by someone who is interested. If you're not interested, then don't waste your time watching it. If you don't like it, get over it. Keep your meaningless comments to yourself. If you're still in doubt as to whether or not this particular setup is genuine, don't lose any sleep over it. I'm not asking you to believe me. I'm the one who bought it directly from the police. I'm the one in possession of the paperwork.
If anyone is still not satisfied by this, you seriously need to get out more. It really isn't that big an issue.
