My old Peterbilt had been sitting for 8 years. We thought we had better fire it up before any more time went by, so we primed the fuel lines with fuel and rounded up four old car batteries, gave the glow plugs 20 seconds to warm things up - - - and she fired right up - - this is Part 1 - - first firing after 8 years. It is a Cat 3406-A engine

Lopey dodge cummins almost blows on a Dyno run the engine locks up as a result. Diagnosis: blown head gasket..





Attempt #1 Blowing Up Subaru LX 1.6L Motor ................ FAILED
Attempt #1 at Blowing up a Subaru LX 1.6L Motor. The motor has nothing but oil in it, it has roughly 280000klms on it. Attempt #1 failed because the computer but the engine into Fail Safe because there was no water in the radiator...... Well derrrr it has no radiator. Stay Tuned for Attempt #2, the engine will DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MTU 8V 396 diesel engine catastrophic failure
This is a MTU 8V 396 diesel engine blowing up. This video was shown during a rebuild class I just took. Not really sure what happened. My guess would be that it spun a bearing, causing a piston to try and sieze, in turn throwing a rod. Pay attention at 24 seconds to the engine torquing hard to the left and the terrible sound it makes until it lets go...
