Bleeding the cooling system on my '94 Roadmaster
This is a short video of how to bleed the cooling system on an LT-1. To do this so there is no mess, the best way is to remove the bleeder that is on the car, and buy a brass "T" fitting from the hardware store (around $6.00), and some clear plastic hose. Run the hose down by the lower radiator hose, and tie it with some 'zip ties'. Then, just twist the handle to open it, and the coolant will run down the hose, into a bucket on the floor-no mess! The best way to do this, is to have the car up on jack stands, or ramps, so the front end is higher than the rear (so the bleeder is higher than the heater core inside the passenger compartment). Once all the antifreeze is in the system, and once the thermostat is open, then you can twist the handle, and watch all the air bubbles coming out of the hose. Then, when the car has been shut off for about 10 minutes, do it again, and you will see even more air bubbles. Even though what I read said that it might take 2-3 times, I must have gotten all the air out of the system the first time I did it. But, at least you can see what I've done (with the new 'bleeder'), and how to do it. I also took a video of the inside of the car, showing the HVAC 'diagnostic' mode (setting number 08), that shows the water temperature at Fahrenheit, and comparing it to where the temp gauge is at.

Inside the LT1 Optispark
A quick look a the inner workings of a new optispark distributer for my Caprice. Its a good idea to put loctite on the 2 screws that hold the rotor down, they tend to come loose and will ruin your day. This particular optispark is an after market one sold by a member on the impala ss forum. He has had good luck with these so far, so I am willing to give it a shot. This is not one of the cheap-ass ones off ebay that die after a few hundred miles.
