1999 Bonneville SLE with L26 manifold

L26 UIM swapped onto an L36. A friend and I spent some quality engine modding time. We swapped out the lower intake manifold for a ported and polished one, and the upper intake manifold is now the aluminum version from the Series 3 3800. There is a custom throttle body adapter plate with a Series 2 supercharged 3800 throttle body. Rice pipe to conical K&N air filter make up the rest of the air intake. Everything else is stock.

L36 to L26 3800 V6 Upper intake swap part 1
I got sick of that crappy plastic intake leaking so I decided to swap it for a L26 Series III upper intake. This video covers modifications to the throttle body. More to come.

Leaking 3800 intake

Pontiac Bonneville 3800 Tune Port Injection Series I (Plastic intake leak solution).
In this video we explain how and why the plastic plenum on a engine will leak. this video discuss the intake plenum on a 3800 3.8L engine from general Motors. Replacing the plastic plenum (intake) manifold (Buick 3.8) with a metal (OEM) one from GM. The metal plenum can be found on most Oldsmobile with the 3800 TPI engine. The plastic intake plenum are more likely to leak air or coolant into the induction system. Coolant leaking into the cylinder will cause the engine to Hydro lock (damage). when the plastic intake leak air. it will cause a Lean condition. A leaky intake manifold will also affect the O2 (oxygen) sensor performance by contaminating the sensor. An intake leak will display many codes. replacing the sensor recommend by the scan tool will not fix the condition if the plenum continue to leaks. http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i232/stevexperformance/Other%20Toys/riv6.jpg PLEASE - RATE -COMMENT AND SUBSCRIBE

3800 V6 Upper Intake Swap Part 2-3
Got sick of leaking coolant so I replaced my VIN K 3800 plastic upper intake swap with a metal one from a L26 3800 Series III (VIN 2) V6. Crappy video quality, filmed at night. Will re-do tomorrow if there are sufficient views to warrant it.

GM 3800 Series II Leak
Removed upper intake manifold and was surprised to see...update: Lower intake manifold had previously been replaced with aluminum gasket. This was found with 102,000 miles on engine :(. Upper intake plenum was damaged around EGR.

GM 3.8 Intake Manifold replacement. Removal the fast way WITH NOTES
this is the "Flat Rate " way to do a 3.8 liter upper and lower intake manifold set. as you see it is not necessary to take off he serp belt, alternator or tensioner assembly to remove the lower manifold. I recomend having someone help when it is time to reinstall the manifold because it can be tricky to lien up the coolant elbow and not mess up the lower gaskets when reinstalling. Note that it is recomended to disconnect the negative battery cable when doing any major repairs. This video is just to show some guys that said that a lower manifold cant be pulled in way less than 20 minutes, I know that I went over that , but I had some stuborn injectors and Im a little out of practice. If you are going to do this yourself and you are not a professional I recomend that you follow the procedure in a service manual

Bonneville SSEi Exhaust Before & After
Video I threw together with the stock exhuast, then open manifold then after installing a ZZP Power Log and 3" Downpipe with Magnaflow high-flow Cat. Once the engine warms up the stock bosal Exhaust is virtually silent, all you hear is air and that's mostly the intake. Open manifolds are epically awesome loud, however unfortunately illegal. The PLog, 3" downpipe and magnaflow cat are decently louder than stock and have a deeper mellow rumble to it, which the camera doesn't really pick up on. Its enough to hear and know it's not stock, yet not overwhelming. I really like it as is, so my plans for magnaflow muffies later on, might go out the window.
