2012 Subaru Legacy Test Drive & Car Review
http://www.autobytel.com/subaru/legacy/2012/ The midsized car segment is packed and the 2012 Subaru Legacy is working hard to separate itself from the rest of the bunch. The advanced symmetrical all-wheel drive system and upgraded interior are 2 ways the Legacy has progressed. The 2012 Subaru Legacy has a base price of $19,995 while the top of the line model goes for $28,595.
There are 3 engines offered on the Legacy. The first is a 2.5 liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 170 horsepower and 170 lb-ft. of torque. This very base engine also gets the best fuel economy at 23 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway. The second engine is a turbocharged version of the 2.5 liter which has 265 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. of torque. The fuel economy for the turbo engine is 18 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway. The last engine choice is a 3.6 liter V-6 that produces 256 horsepower and 247 lb-ft. of torque. The V-6 engine gets 18 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway. Fuel economy is a bit lower than the competition due in part to the all wheel drive system.
The Subaru Legacy has always had a spot in the midsized car segment and the turbocharged GT Limited model is a big hit with enthusiasts. So if you are looking for something a bit more unique the regular mundane choices for a midsized passenger car and you want the added safety and handling that comes from an all wheel drive vehicle, then the 2012 Subaru Legacy may be the right choice.
