For this "mega" video, I take you, the viewer, to the quaint town of Carmel-by-the-Sea in Northern California and the adjacent city of Monterey, CA for 5 days. This week-long event is called "Carmel Car Week," "Monterey Auto Week," and "Concours Week" among other names. It is a gathering of the nicest, most exclusive, most expensive cars in the world and the week is capped off by the world famous Concours D'elegance, which is an enormous car show on the fairway of the 18th hole at the Lodge at Pebble Beach. It features the most prestigious cars, from Ferrari 250 GTOs (there were 22 there, out of 36 ever made) to restored Bugattis, to modern cars. The first clips in the video are from the beautiful drive up to Monterey from Los Angeles via Highway 1 (PCH). This was a ridiculous scenario that will most likely be once in a lifetime, but I'm sure as f**k happy I got it on video! The Lamborghini Diablo GTR, or Lambo's track weapon modified Diablo. I believe only 25 were ever made, and the Monterey Blue one is the only one they made in that color. The best part about this whole video is that neither of these are truly street legal, so they shouldn't be out on the streets, but hey, I don't mind it! These are incredibly hard to drive too, so you'll see that the yellow one blatantly runs a red so that he avoids stalling... Anyways, enjoy the video! If it wasn't for him this video wouldn't be possible. While I was visiting my friends in California after we went and took delivery of the car while I was there we went for a nice cruise. I decided to throw my GoPro on the car just to record the engine noise but got much better footage then I could have ever asked for. On top of everything I put the camera in a position I have never seen before on a Veyron. It turned out to be epic! I found out through a Facebook upload that this Bug was gonna be cruising through Beverly Hills, and my parents wanted to eat dinner there, so I quickly grabbed my video camera and before dinner we did a little "Bugatti Hunting." I found a whole bunch of R8s and SLSs and 1 Bugatti, Bijan's black and yellow Veyron parked outside of his store, so I photographed that. That wasn't what I was looking for though. BUT, just after filming that-literally 50 feet later, walking to the restaurant-I saw this car that didn't quite look like a Ferrari or Lamborghini, and it instantly hit me that it was the Super Sport I was searching for. My immediate reaction was "holy sh*t! that's it!" and I ran across the street to get some video. The driver was really cool and gave some enormous revs, which you can see in the video. I followed it for a little and it sped away into the darkness of night... The most incredible thing about any Veyron is its road presence, compared to civilian cars. When I saw this in Carmel this year and last year, while it was amazing, it was next to 10 other Bugatti Veyrons, so it looked normal. Seeing it on the street, next to regular cars, was crazy.
