Bad Penny Camaro 461 cubic inch RHS block LS engine - 720 hp

Dyno tested our '68s new engine. It's a 461 based around RHS's new aftermarket short-deck block. Inside there's a Lunati pro crank, Lunati I-beam rods, Wiseco pistons. The bore is 4.155 and the stroke is 4.250. We also benefited from Mast Motorsports big-bore Black Lable Heads. Machine work was done by Tom Nelson at Nelson Racing Engines. Tom also ported the FAST 102mm intake and reworked the valves to give more mid-range flow. So, best pull was 719.5 hp and 662 lb-ft of torque. In fact it made 413 lb-ft way down at 2500 rpm. Peak power was 6300 rpm and we pulled all the way to 6700 with no float at all. The cam is fairly tame and specs at 247/263 114LSA with lift of .624. We wanted good street manners and could have made tons more power with a bigger cam and/or going solid. Should be fun!

Dynoed the new engine today at Westech on thier Superflow chassis Dyno. Went great and the car ran hard. It's being somewhat hampered by the 90mm TB on the 102mm intake but a new 102 FBW TB is on the way and should give us another 20 hp. Not like we need it. Numbers are corrected and engine was running at 210 degrees. Timing was in the 27 degree range.
