1963 Hillman Imp that my father has built in his shed over the last 2 1/2 years. A Yamaha FJ1200 engine has been fitted in the left rear of the cabin driving onto a short tailshaft to a modified Skyline Diff. The footage is of the first race entered on completion which is at the MG Car Club Newcastles' Ringwood Hillclimb track. It set a fastet time of 34.11 seconds which is a faster time than our R32 Skyline GTS-t has set at this track to date.
Hillman Imp App K - a busy weekend...
Doc racing his Imp in a round of the Norwegian Historic Racing
Championship, with me jumping in for race #2. The car was not running as it
should, and was down on power. In addition we had an overheating issue
after a few laps. We ran carefully to get some much needed seat time, as
well as setting up the suspension. These cars will be seriously
fast....some day :)
We still had grand fun, even if the car god a good wallop in the side,
which btw is the first bodywork damage to any of our racers since 1983!
Ben Graham prepared Suzuki powered Imp
Hillman Imp fitted with a Suzuki 1.3 liter engine which is in it's present
state of tune a far different engine to when it was stock a few months ago.
Weber carbs Isky cam and a few other goodies should surely make this a very
interesting circuit car.

My Rally Imp
The Imp was always one of my favorite cars, and as a proud owner of an
incredible immaculate ´70 Super Imp, I couldn´t resist tuning it to rally
spec and enjoy it as much as possible.
Sunbeam Imp racer test
Testing Doc's Imp Racer for 5 laps at Rudskogen september 2009. The car is
a GP2, Fia APP K car, 998cc full-race engine from Reg Patten. At this test
we're using the spare gearbox, which was not very smooth to say the least.
The brakes also need some mods, but apart from that the car was super fun
to drive, and quick as well. With just a couple of quickish test-laps I
nearly matched my best in the Mini, so these cars have great potential in
their class. Next year will be fun as we're building a 2nd car which is a
full Bevan-replica, and I might sneak in some races in that one. Enjoy the
fantastic sound these screamers produce!
