This new SL63 AMG is lighter, faster, more powerful and more efficient than the old flagship, so could it be the best yet? New editor Sam Hardy travelled to the South of France to find out. The new SL63 AMG is powered by a 530bhp 5.5-litre twin-turbocharged V8 and has a price tag of around £100,000. Mercedes also offers a Performance Package, which adds another £10,000 to the price, takes power to 557bhp and increases peak torque from 800Nm to 900Nm.

We will return to the usual length videos for our next review. Until now, Mercedes hasn't offered a rival to premium hatchbacks like the BMW 1 Series, Audi A3 or VW Golf. The handsome new A-Class changes that, aiming to attract younger buyers to the brand. Featuring a much lower roofline and detailed creases on its side, the car looks much sportier. It's available with a range of engines, including a diesel that emits less than 100g/km -- the first Mercedes to do so. A hot 208bhp 2.0-litre turbo A250 is also planned. Prices are competitive with the car's A3 and 1 Series rivals.

But the Citroen offers something different. It looks like a mix between an estate and a hatchback with a jacked-up ride height and boasts styling that's certain to turn heads. The interior is top-notch too with options like watch-strap leather sats and aircraft style switches that sit above the driver's head. It's a real step up in quality and style compared to Citroens of the past. Underneath the bonnet, the most important powertrain is the Hybrid4 which -- on some models claims tax-free CO2 emissions and impressive performance. A 1.6-litre diesel with 109bhp and a non-hybrid version of the 2.0 HDi also feature. The petrol options -- both 1.6s -- put out 153bhp and 197bhp.
