McLaren MP4-12C Supercar Enters Final Phase of Testing
Development of the groundbreaking McLaren MP4-12C is entering its final phase. The bespoke high-performance sports car is due to launch in 2011, and right now the latest Experimental Prototype (XP) 12Cs are undergoing intensive appraisal at a number of test locations around the world. Featured in the short film are XP8 and XP10, two XP Beta-phase prototypes. Wrapped almost entirely in matt black vinyl.

McLaren MP4-12C makes flying debut at Goodwood FOS 2010
The innovative new McLaren MP4-12C was given its public world debut at the 2010 Goodwood Festival of Speed, held from 01-04 July. Current Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button and 2008 Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton delighted the crowds by driving a McLaren Orange Validation Prototype (VP) 12C up the famous Goodwood Hill on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

This exciting engine delivers 616 HP at 7500 rpm and a peak torque of 442 lbs-ft between 3000-7000 rpm and is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission driving the rear-wheels. One of the most distinctive features of the new 12C Spider is its Retractable Hard Top which is operated using a switch in the lower section of the center console inside the cabin. It is capable of opening or closing in a mere 17 seconds up to speeds of 19 mph and slips in nicely between the mid-mounted engine and the inside of the car.
