1993 Mersedes S 500 SE Review,Start Up, Engine, and In Depth Tour

For more in depth reviews check my channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/avtomobil... Filmed by: Tomaž Kožar Jesenice The 2010 Mercedes-Benz S-Class ranks 2 out of 7 Super Luxury Cars. This ranking is based on our analysis of 90 published reviews and test drives of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and our analysis of reliability and safety data. The flagship sedan of the world's oldest automaker, the exemplary 2010 Mercedes-Benz S-Class shows off everything that Mercedes engineers can do. It offers a level of luxury even some similarly-priced cars can't match, and safety systems no other automaker builds. Much of the same can be said, however, of its less-expensive E-Class sibling. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is the most luxurious and exclusive sedan built by the legendary engineers at Mercedes-Benz. It is a well-balanced luxury cruiser, offering refined road manners, sumptuous luxury and high-end technology packaged within an old-world ambiance that many rivals can't approach. Available with a powerful V8 or an astonishing twin-turbo V12, it is as fast as many sports cars. With exceptional Napa leather upholstery and a revised technology package including an updated navigation system that stores Zagat reviews of thousands of restaurants and hotels, it coddles its occupants like few cars ever have. Its unique, optional Drive Dynamic seats, which actually change shape to cradle passengers in response to the car's movements, are something no rival can match. For 2010, the S-Class also debuts some extraordinary new safety systems, such as Mercedes' new, heavily-advertised Attention Assist driver drowsiness monitor, which attempts to detect and alert a tiring driver. Reviewers continue to be frustrated with the car's complex COMAND system, which makes adjusting everything from the radio station to the firmness of the seats a complicated process involving a series of menus on the navigation screen. A few also say that a new steering system, found only on the S550, is disappointing, feeling overBoosted. Other Cars to Consider The Super Luxury Car class has seen several significant new entries in recent years, and the S-Class is no longer an obvious favorite. Buyers interested in an opulent interior can save thousands, while retaining a similar level of comfort, in the Lexus LS. Buyers looking for raw performance can out-corner the S-Class in BMW's redesigned 7-Series -- or, for a similar price, can buy what many consider the world's fastest four-door sedan, the all-new Porsche Panamera. S-Class buyers might also pause to notice that, one step down on the price ladder, the all-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan carries much of the same appeal, and all of the same safety systems, for a lower cost. Those who have always seen a Mercedes-Benz S-Class as the epitome of luxury motoring won't be disappointed with the 2010 edition. This is still a superb car in every way. But those who aren't attached to the idea of a Mercedes might want to consider a few competitors before settling on this car. Mercedes-Benz S-Class: The Details A new, hybrid edition of the S-Class is available for 2010. The S400 hybrid differs from conventionally-powered S-Class sedans in many ways. We review it separately. A pair of high-performance AMG models, the S63 and S65, also get separate reviews. For 2010, Mercedes has made subtle exterior changes to the lights and side mirrors of the S-Class, added considerable new safety equipment and slightly altered the mix of options available on each trim level.

W140 Mercedes Benz S500 S600 Coupe 2 Owner CLEAN CL S 500 S 600 420 320 CL500
1 Owner car guy AKA Nathan Wratislaw here and this W140 is one of My favorites it is a 1995 Mercedes Benz S500 Coupe or CL500. Its a Great car and has only had 2 owners with only 80,000 original miles You will absolutly LOVE this car if a S500C is what you are looking for. I sell A LOT of 600 500 420 and 320 cars and the W140 is pretty much the top of the line..;-P From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Development on the W140 began in 1981, originally set for an autumn 1989 release. From 1982 to 1986 several designs were reviewed, until December 1986 when the final design was approved. Several prototypes were tested onwards from early 1987. A delay was made to accommodate a V12 engine and resulted in the final prototype being completed in June 1990. Pilot production models were made from July 1990 to January 1991. In 1991, to compete with the Lexus LS 400, a series of additional features were rushed for the launch of the W140.[2] The W140 introduced innovations such as double-pane window glazing, power-assisted closing for doors and boot lid, electric windows which lowered back down upon encountering an obstruction, rear-parking markers which rose from the rear wings (discontinued on later vehicles, and replaced with sonar-assisted parking) and a heating system which, if desired, continued to emit warm air after the engine was turned off. For details like this, the W140 is often known as the last Mercedes to be "overengineered," a Mercedes trait that was costing the company in product delays and overbudgeting. According to Motor Trend, this action reportedly caused project cost overruns and resulted in the departure of Wolfgang Peter, Daimler-Benz's chief engineer.[2] The vehicle is believed to have cost Mercedes-Benz over $1 billion to develop. For the consumer, the W140 cost a considerable 25 percent more than its predecessor, the W126. The W140 was to feature air-suspension as an option, but it was dropped shortly before launch because Mercedes was still perfecting the technology at the time. Mercedes chose to launch air-suspension in the next generation S-Class in 2000. The W140 instead used a hydropneumatic rear suspension, first introduced on the W126 to be used on the S500 and S600 models. Following the mid-year facelift in 1994, Mercedes-Benz made Electronic Stability Control an optional fixture to both sedan and coupé body styles in the W140 range. Both the sedan and coupé body styles were equipped with Acceleration Slip Regulation (ASR) as a standard feature. Like its predecessor, the car was available in two wheelbase lengths (short W140 and long V140) along with the C140 coupé. In 1992, a new 6 litre 402 horsepower V12 engine joined the lineup for the first time with the 600SEL and 600SEC. A "V12" badge was affixed to the C-pillar. In 1993, the 402 horsepower V12 engine was slightly detuned to 389 horsepower to comply with tighter emission control regulations in the United States and Europe. The V8 models were tuned down from 322 horsepower to 315 horsepower. The W140 600SEL was available with wooden rear ash tray covers, wood/leather shift knob, leather dashboard and a suede headliner, unlike the V8 and inline 6-cylinder models. Following the facelift in 1994, the rebadged S600 was updated with a wood/leather steering wheel, a V12 badge on the wood/leather shifter, double needle stitching all over the interior and two tone nappa leather seating -- further distinctions from its lower rung siblings. Following the new Mercedes-Benz tradition of mid-life facelifts (starting with the W126 in 1986), the W140 received a minor facelift in 1994. The clear turn signal indicator lenses on the front were the most obvious change, as was the grille including a new and distinctive one for S600's. Headlamps were fitted with separate low H7, H1 fog, and high H1 beam reflectors in 1995, pre 1995 used an H4 bulb and H3 for the fog lamp. In April 1995, "Parktronic" replaced the parking guiders on the rear boot lid. In June 1996, the two tone exterior bumpers were painted to match the upper portions of the vehicles and the rear indicator lenses became clear. Height of the W140 production models varied between years (1992-94 W140 Sedan: 58.7 in; 1992-94 V140 Sedan: 58.9 in; 1995-96 W140 Sedan: 58.4 in; 1997-99 V140 Sedan: 58.3 in; C140 Coupe: 56.7 in; 1997-99 W140 Sedan: 58.5 in).

1998 Mercedes-Benz S280 Start-Up and Full Vehicle Tour
A friend in college drives this '98 S280. I asked him whether I could make a video on his car and he said ok! So here it is. There are some stuff that aren't working properly in the car, but otherwise it's still fine. It's a newer example but has much more mileage than my dad's '95 S320L. If possible, I'll try to get a quick comparison video in the near future. Specs on the engine that I forgot to include in the video; 2.8 litre DOHC inline-six engine with a 4-speed automatic transmission. 197bhp, 270Nm of torque
