Lincoln LS Bassani Exhaust
2004 lincoln ls v8 with bassani mufflers. I took off some magnaflows to put
these on and I like these better. I have had borla, flowmasters, magnaflows
and not bassanis. The best overall for me would be bassani. Great sound
from them, this video does no justice!

The History of Lincoln
Henry Leland, a former manager of the Cadillac division of General Motors,
and his son, Wilfred Leland, formed the Lincoln Motor Company in August,
1917. Leland named the new company after Abraham Lincoln, his hero and for
whom he cast a vote in 1864. Lincoln's first source of revenue came from
assembling Liberty aircraft engines, using cylinders supplied by Ford Motor
Company, to fulfill World War I government contracts.
After the war, the Lincoln factories were retooled to manufacture luxury
automobiles. Ford Motor Company purchased the Lincoln Motor Company in
1922, but Lincoln continued to operate as a somewhat separate company from
Ford through early 1940. On April 30, 1940 the Lincoln Motor Company became
the Lincoln Division of Ford Motor Company
At the direction of Henry's son Edsel, in 1923 several body styles were
introduced, that included two- and three-window, four-door sedans and a
phaeton that accommodated four passengers. They also offered a
two-passenger roadster and a seven-passenger touring sedan and limousine,
which was sold for $5,200. A sedan, limo, cabriolet and town car were also
offered by coachbuilders Fleetwood, Derham and Dietrich, and a second
cabriolet was offered by coachbuilder Brunn.
As the brand grew it developed several memorable vehicles, the Zephyr, the
Continental Mark II, the Lincoln Continental and recently the ubiquitous

The Lincoln Continental was produced from 1939 to 1948 and again from 1956
to 2002. The Continental was a distinctively styled, highly equipped,
luxury car. Its name conveyed prestige. This generation of Continental is
favored by collectors and has appeared in many motion pictures, such as The
Matrix, The Last Action Hero, and the Inspector Gadget films. It has also
appeared in the television series Pushing Daisies, and recently in the
opening sequence of the television series Entourage.
The fourth generation Continental's most recognized trademark, front
opening rear doors, was a purely practical decision. The doors were hinged
from the rear when Lincoln engineers kept hitting the doors with their feet
when examining the back seats. The suicide doors were to become the
best-known feature of 1960s Lincolns. The Continental was the first postwar
four-door convertible from a major U.S. manufacturer.
Vanguard Motor Sales is proud to present this, two owner, 1966 Lincoln
Continental Convertible. Let me just say, if you are tired of being a
spectator at the car shows, and you are ready to get some attention, this
is the car for you. With the suicide doors, brand new Gangster white wall
tires mounted on the original wheels, and a power hide-away convertible top
that works without hesitation, you will be turning heads wherever you go.
This triple black Continental has a straight and solid body. The gaps and
panels line up perfectly, the doors open and shut without and problems. The
paint isn't perfect, but it is nice and shines up great. The chrome is in
average condition. The undercarriage is solid, as you can see from the
pictures. There aren't any holes in the pans or frame rot. The squared-off
grille houses the headlights, and sits above the chrome bumper, which
features the parking lights and front turn signals. The taillights are
fitted with a ribbed chrome grille on each side, and set in the rear
Pop the hood and you'll find the 462ci big block motor, with 80k original
miles. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly, and with the power
steering, this boat practically floats down the road. Power brakes are
another nice feature that really makes driving this convertible a true
Inside this convertible you will find the original black leather interior.
The walnut-paneling on the doors ads to the prestige look. Front factory
seat belts with retractors, a tilt wheel, and both power seat and windows
make for one comfortable ride. The A/C is currently inoperable, but who
needs A/C when you can put the top down?
Product breakdown for the 1966 Lincoln Continental consisted of 65% sedans,
29% coupes, and just under 6% for the four-door convertible. Total sales
were close to 55,000 in 1966, which means only around 3,200 of these 4 door
convertibles were made. How many do you think are left? This is an amazing
opportunity to own one of these luxury automobiles for a reasonable price.
It runs great, drives straight down the road and will be a great cruiser
for summer nights. Don't miss out on this opportunity, call today!
