Unlock and TEST your BMW E46 3 Series OBC Hidden Functions DIY
Follow me as I check my Battery Voltage to see if I need a new battery or alternator.
Instructions to access the hidden OBC functions:
1. Hold Trip Reset while turning ignition key to on position
2. OBC should show "Test"
3. Use Trip Reset to select function 19.0 that unlocks all the features
3. Wait for display to show "Off"
4. Depress Trip Reset for 1/4 second and release it
5. With no delay press Trip Reset several times to select one of the following function s

How to clear Check Engine Light and Fault Codes BMW
The method of clearing engine light needs to pass inspection. If you have check engine light turning on after the car runs for several miles. Park to nearest Inspection station, and after clearing Check Engine Light, bring in for inspection. This is good only for car manufactured before 1996 BMW. It also reset all the fault code BMW.

Check the Battery Voltage in a BMW E39 E38 X5 E46 with high cluster
Proper Procedure on How to check the battery Voltage in your BMW using the BMW Instrument Cluster self check feature. A Properly Charged BMW Battery has 12.6V as tested after having the car off and high beams on for 5 minutes. Turn off lights during test. Batteries at 12.25V is 50% state of charge and should be replaced or reconditioned.
