Wheel standing 1970 AMX - qualifying run #2
Second run. This run was actually better on the incremental times with a
1.38 60' time until I got past the 1000' mark. Apparently the carb float
came loose and fell into the bowl (Autolite carb). This is an NHRA SS/H AMX
and is a 390 AMC by MACH Development with a Jerico 4-speed using and
Advanced Clutch. Note where the 60' lights are.
1969 AMC AMX Burnout
390 4spd, 3:15 gears, the rear tires are 295 50 15 goodyears on mopar
police wheels and they fit perfect!
1973 AMC Javelin AMX
When is a Javelin also an AMX? Jack Boughton explains how he came to own
this unique 401 cubic inch Javelin/AMX and what he's done since the day he
drove it off the lot when it was brand new. Lance Lambert, host of
television's "Vintage Vehicle Show", learns why, among other things, the
interior of Jack's car is so unusual. More information about the "Vintage
Vehicle Show" can be found at www.vintagevehicletv.com.

1970 AMC Javelin
Dennis Allen's 1970 AMC Javelin is not your grandma's AMC. It's a 401 cubic
inch fire red Camaro
killer than has been featured on the cover of Street Thunder magazine.
Lance Lambert, host of TV's "Vintage Vehicle Show" learns how Dennis
changed this car from a well used used car into magazine cover beauty. More

Wheel standing 1970 AMX - Eliminations and sparks flying
Round 1 of eliminations. Car was launched at a low 6200 RPM. Still a 1.38
60' time. Nothing more consistant than Advanced Clutches (see the web
site). Veered off to the left too much. Let off the gas for the 1st time
ever and came down with a big thunk. Shut the engine off just to make sure
no oil pan damage (there was none). Sparks are crossmember hitting
concrete. Slight bevel on leading edge of oil pan. If you ever want a
killer engine, go to MACH Development (see their web page). NHRA Best
Appearing @ 2006 Pacific SportsNationals (Fontana, CA). Now going to the
shop for a back-half and 4-link to tame it down some. Hope you enjoyed the
Mark Donohue Javelin SST 1970 Stored in Trailer for over 20 years rescued unloaded forklifted
This is a video capturing the unloading of a 1970 Mark Donohue Javelin SST
that was stored in a trailer for over 20 years. I was a little scared
filming this as I did not want to be posting a video of the destruction of
a 1970 Mark Donohue Javelin SST, personally I would have cut the roof off
the trailer and taken the car out with a helicopter, not to worry though as
there were 2 guys inside the trailer ready to catch the car if it fell or
tipped over ...but alas, as risky as it was, a success!!!! 2 other cars
were stored in the trailer as well, a super low mile Gremlin and I think it
was a 1979 AMX, but this was the treasure we were digging for!!!!!! On the
spoiler you will notice "401", this was originally a 390 and if I remember
right it is a Big Bad Orange, Orange or Green, it was not a bad re-paint
but the inside of the door jam reveals the original color, a nice find!!!
The car is in fantastic condition! This was not accomplished on the first
attempt, a few mis-fires happened but it all was okay in the end!

Wheel standing 1970 AMX - Qualifying run #3
1970 AMC AMX. NHRA SS/H. Still fighting the launch that goes left. Came
down really hard on this pass. I had the AFCO double adjustable shocks on
full firm on extentsion & compresion on front shocks. 60' time was again
1.38 and if you look at the 60' light beam you'll see the rear tires are
tripping the lights. This is a lot of fun, but it's going in for a 4-link
I was low on battery voltage on this run and it slowed up from it's best of
10.10 @ 132.21.
