Ford Contour Start Up Attempt After Sitting 5 Yrs Part 1
This car died where it sits almost 5 yrs ago and we never got around to working on it. A friend of mine was interested in buying it, so I decided to see if it would fire up.
Timing belt odd ball
Most of the time our work goes smoothly. But now and then you run into something that just isn't working. Here's one of those situations.
1999 Ford Contour Brake and rotor removal
This is a Contour and my neighbor asked me to install brakes and new rotors. In the video you can see that if this were a simple brake job you would remove the tire and use a t45 torx bit, 3/8 drive ratchet, short 3/8 drive extension, pry bar (large screw driver),either a c-clamp or a caliper tool to compress the piston in the caliper.
If you are replacing the rotor you must also have a 15mm socket a breaker bar and some muscle lol. You need these tools to remove the caliper mounting bracket so you can remove the rotor.
If you notice that the rotor in this video was stuck you were absolutely correct. I had to use some PB Blaster and a 4lbs. sledge hammer to remove the rotors on this car. This happens some times and can be avoided by using Antisense on the hub flange where the rotor sits on and the hub that sticks out through the rotor. I didn't show the almost 2 hours of hammering it took to remove the rotor.
Reassembly is reverse order of disasembly.

Timing chain check.
Wow! This might be the worst one I ever saw! If a timing chain breaks while you're cruising down the road, it can send a valve right through the top of a piston. Parts fly and depending on how fast you're going, the damage multiplies.. Cracked blocks, broken rods, cracked heads, you name it. It all can come apart pretty quick, if you've got any speed up. Yea, I want to fix this.. It explains why the carb didn't seem to be workin' right. Yessir, I love this stuff.

Replacing a Serpentine Belt - EricTheCarGuy
I've had more than one request for this, the other day I had one come in and was happy to make the video for it. This is a fairly easy one compared to some that I have had to deal with, just work smart and have the right tools and you will be fine. Remember the longer the tool the better the leverage and that you should check to make sure you have the correct belt before you try and install it.
