February 10th-21st 2010, Mitsubishi Motors showcased my 2000 Eclipse GT-P at the 2010 Chicago Auto Show ( Mitsubishi Motors Autoshowoff Contest Winner ). My first full length movie of my adventure from the show with lots of fun, lots of memories, lots of hard work! 4G Eclipse GT Dual Exhaust
This is a comparison video for those looking at going dual Exhaust (or single) on your 4G Eclipse GT. It compares the Exhaust sounds from revs and drive bys of a stock eclipse to that of one with a custom Dual Exhaust and Y pipe set up from Mad Hatter Muffler. The mufflers used in the build were Thunderbolt. They were chosen simply for price and looks. I wanted a 4.5" tip to fill up the space in the bumper and that they had a similar build and set up to the Magnaflow, but less expensive. This is in no way an endorsement for any type of system, just simply a comparison that I hope will help shed some light on the topic and perhaps help someone in choosing a set up for their car whatever brand or type they go with. Both cars in the video are 2006 GT's. Rear Bumper for the Dual Exhaust is a 2009 Eclipse GT Bumper that has the molded cut outs for the duals...
2006 Eclipse GT Dyno
This is my bone stock 6-speed manual 2006 Eclipse GT Dyno. It has the 3.8L V6 MIVEC engine.
I put down max of 247.9 HP / 247.9 Lbs of torque to the wheels.
If you listen closely, you can hear the profile change and the engine note get very aggressive. Fun car to drive but torque steer sucks
