Loading the 1 ton with a Komatsu PC50
It was a tight spot so we couldn't get the tandem axle dump truck in there and still have the reach with the excavator. We had to use the smaller dump truck and run more loads back to the yard.
1946 Chevy truck 1 1/2 ton dump
Backing and repositioning the old truck, then dumping about 3 yards of 5/8 chips. I use this truck a lot, it has a later model 235 and will go about 55-60 if I push it (I don't, it stays on backroads). It has a homemade hydraulic/electric lift.
Tailgating stone with Chevy 1ton dump
Taigating a load of 2a modified limestone with my 2007 chevy 3500hd dump truck. 2a is a bit harder than 2b since it all sticks together and jams
18 Yards of Fill Sand
Dump truck unloading the fill sand to create a hill in the back yard.
Sideloading onto the Lowbed work
Loading the John Deere 590 onto the lowbed. Notice the deck on the ground while I was loading to prevent torguing the trailer.
Transfer Dump Race: The Complete Run
Mark Tarascou and his Pete 359 is seen participating in a transfer dump competiton at the 2011 Truckin' For Kids Truck Show. Although there were a few glitches, it was still a good show.
For those not familiar with dump trucks like these, they are set up with a system that allows the driver to back the truck up while they are standing behind it to make attaching the towbar easier. The driver puts the truck in reverse gear and shuts the engine off. At the rear is a switch or a button that is used to engage the starter motor on the engine without starting the truck. Since the transmission is in reverse, as the starter motor turns the engine it also turns the driveline and backs the truck up. I'm not a trucker so I don't know what this system or technique is called, but that is how it works. Thanks for watching. Please rate and share this video with your friends. Shot on 9-25-11.
