Wrangler YJ TBI 87-90 air intake boot upgrade kit with aftermarket air temp.

This is a simplereplacement for the original accordion hose. This accordion hose should have never being installed into the car. Money saving schemesof the 90's have gone "wield". Chrysler finallycame to their senses for the 1991 model year. Today it's called "Injector boot" to assist fuel injection process and properlyisolate the elements. Just look under the hood of any modern car and you'll find this boot present.

9xauto offers modified injector boot with aftermarketair sensor. We will provide a pig tail connector for the air temp sensor. You can splicepigtail wires into existing air temp harness, or leave it alone. In addition the injector boot has vacuum barb. This barb can be attachedto the Chrysler's case ventilation filter.

It is DIY short system Injector boot upgrade. Another small benefit of this injector boot is relocated air temp sensor from the hot intake manifold, to the rubber injector boot. Installing ambient air sensor into the hot intake manifold is counterproductive. Years later air temp sensor was relocated away from heated manifold.Why do you need to connect case ventilation filter.

You are all experienced with oil pan and main crank seal leaks at one time or another. People usually attribute this oil leak to the vehicle's age. However, it is not the reason. Poor case ventilation forces gasoline vapordetonation inside the engine's case creating high pressures which blows these seals away.

Important note;

If your Wrangler was incorrectly raised (raising body on bushings) vs viasuspension or a larger tires, this intake will not align between the throttle body and the air filter box. In this case, the engine is mounted ontothe frame whereascar body is lifted.

Additional useful information regarding your 2.5 engine.

Jeep 2.5 engines, although are 4 cylinders, using direct fuel injection and variable timing computer system, could deliver the power well beyondthe 6 cyl model. Even if you install such system, it will rip the gears out of your transfer case and differential. Also you will need to spend thousands of dollars on this upgrade. Not worth it. However, there is one single improvementyou can make to 2.5 to notice a slight difference in performance. It has been noted for years that early Jeep ignition systems suffered a substantial voltage and spark drop with RPM increase. Therefore, any improvement in "Ignition Spark" performance would deliver noticeable difference. There are many systems on the market, but according to our test they all have problem working with 2.5 tachometer and require complicated wiring. Never the less we found a system that works pretty well requiring no installation or rewiring. NOLOGY CAPACITY DISCHARGE WIRES. Google it. Remember this, with these wires your spark electrode open "C" must be facing air intake (where the air is coming from) to the manifold. We also discovered with this set up, OEM spark plugs work the best. Good luck!
