For sale (from what I believe to be) is a pair (2) of used Original OEM early 1969 Ford 15X7 Magnum 500 wheels. I am not an expert on these wheels but from what I could find I believe they were very early before “Ford” started being stamped on them.
Motor Wheel Co. in Lansing Mi. was the manufacturer of the Magnum 500 wheels.
The wheels have some surface rust and chrome fading around the rim (see pics) and the finish appears to be original and has aged/faded. The wheels are 15 x 7 with a 4” backspacing. The he hub hole measures 2". These would need to be restored for a show car.
I do not see a “Ford” stamp on the inside of the back lip of the wheel. I did see a comment from a member on a Concours Mustang Forum from several years back which stated the following:
“all ford boss magnums are 15×7" & have ford oval stamped on inside outer lip except for 69 boss 429 (the first boss magnums) of which were sourced directly from magnum 500 co. & don’t have a ford stamp id.”
There is very little information about the early version magnums used on the ‘69 Mustangs out there. If you know more information about these wheels, please let me know.
I purchased them from a man whose uncle had died. The uncle was a huge Mustang fanatic and collector. Unfortunately, the nephew knew nothing about the wheels.
