Nissan 300ZX CUP HOLDER INSERT. Has a second hole to retain lighter option.
This is a buyout of a new part in an unpainted black hair-cell textured abs plastic. Unit includes a recessed hole to access the original lighter. You must replace the original ashtray door with this cover. Note: this cover insert replaces the ashtray lid only - not the whole ashtray and once installed it does not open to access the ashtray.
Easy to install - just mount by using your own silicone adhesive and following the instructions below:
- Remove the original ashtray lid and rubber bumper.
- Using silicone adhesive(or other adhesive caulking - black preferred) apply a bead of silicone caulking around the perimeter of the ashtray opening.
- Slightly tilt the cup holder and insert the right side into the ashtray opening and press unit into place. (the cup holder may seem too wide but it will fit as you press it into place).
- Level the unit and, if necessary, use some masking tape to hold unit in place while the adhesive cures.
It's not necessary to tear up the ashtray or use messy glue. There's a screw under the ashtray, I just drilled a countersunk hole in the corner of your part, and bought a #10 x1.25black screw from the hardware store. You remove the ashtray, remove the screw, and your part attaches with the new longer screw. Works great.
