You are bidding on a Pair of Brand New Southwest Speed Triple Process Chrome Plated 1970-1988 Chevy Monte Carlo Clipster Headers for Small Block Chevy 262-400ci Engines (SWS Part #440-2140).
These headers are designed primarily for the 70-88 Monte Carlo, as well as fitting many other General Motors vehicles, and are the perfect choice for lowered applications where ground clearance is an issue. The collectors exit toward the rear of the engine compartment and are well above the under carriage of the vehicle, eliminating the chance of the collectors contacting the ground. The unique design of the collector location makes these headers a great choice for many other types of vehicles, such as Trucks, Hot Rods, Rat Rods, Street Rods, and many other vehicles, that include: 1967-1981 Camaro, 1964-1981 Chevelle and Malibu, 1964-1988 El Camino, 1968-1979 Nova, and the 1970-1988 Monte Carlo. Always measure carefully to insure the fitment of the headers before ordering, never order these headers for any application without measuring first. Supplied with 1 5/8\" tubes with 3\" collectors, and comes complete with header bolts and gaskets and reducer bolts and gaskets. Features .300\" Ground parallel flanges on the cylinder head surface, and includes a pair of 3\" to 2 1/4\" reducers to complete the installation. These Headers will fit angle plug or straight plug head applications using Autolite Shorty Style Spark Plugs or the NKG BR8ECM Spark Plugs.
IMPORTANT: These headers will require the use of Accel shorty spark plugs, Autolite shorty style spark plugs, or NGK BR8ECM short spark plugs to be used for clearance purposes. We are not aware of any other spark plugs that will allow enough clearance at this time. Any attempt to use these headers without the shorty plugs will cause damage to the ignition wires.

- 2. Mechanical Clutch Linkage Interference (substitute 440-2155 headers)
- 3. If fitting on an early A-Body, #5 primary tube may interfere with steering shaft. Some \'massaging\' may be required.
- 4. Will not fit with Saginaw Close Ratio 825 Steering Box.
- 5. Will not fit 1967-69 Camaro with Air Conditioning
- 6. Requires Accel Shorty Style Spark Plugs, Autolite Shorty Style Spark Plugs, or NKG BR8ECM Short Style Spark Plugs.
- 7. Tight fit will not allow all spark plugs to be removed with a spark plug socket. Some spark plugs will need to be removed with a box end wrench.
Chrome Warning:
Due to a revised chroming process brought on by recent EPA regulations and high labor costs, today\'s chrome is not the quality of days gone by. Be Aware: Exhaust components which are chrome plated are now much more susceptible to blueing, blistering, peeling & corrosion. We see very few headers that do not change color once exhaust temperatures are achieved. No warranty or returns on chrome exhaust items once they have been installed.
Header Return Policy:
Please refer to the header measurement chart below to make sure the header will fit your vehicle and application before ordering. In the event you order a header that will not fit your vehicle and application, you may return them for a refund, providing you don\'t damage the header. When you receive the header the finish will be protected and must remain unscratched for a refund. If you bend or dimple any of the tubes or scratch the finish, we will not be able to sell the header and will not be able to process a refund. Use care when trial fitting headers. Repack them well to prevent damage returning them to us. We won\'t process refunds for scratched, dimpled, dented, or bent headers.
