STATUTORY WARRANTY

All terms and conditions are subject to the Australian Consumer Law, and your rights as a consumer under that law are not affected by anything contained here.


WHAT DOES MY WARRANTY COVER?

This warranty covers any manufacturing defects that cause a breakdown in the function of a part.


WHAT IS EXCLUDED?

It does not cover any issues arising from external factors, including but not limited to damage incurred by the installation of a part, poor maintenance, damage caused by accidents or environmental factors, or normal wear and tear.


CAN MY WARRANTY BECOME VOID?

Yes, the warranty will become void if the part isn’t installed by a qualified mechanic in Australia.


HOW LONG AM I COVERED?

The warranty is subject to other terms and conditions and is otherwise pursuant to the manufacturer’s warranty terms of 12 months or 25,000kms (whichever comes first) from the delivery date of your order.


This warranty is not transferrable and applies only to the customer who purchased the part from Oz Automotives.

If you suspect something isn’t right, please consult with your mechanic who installed the part for you, prior to contacting us. They will be able to assist you with obtaining some of the information required to submit a warranty claim if necessary. This information is detailed further on page two.


HOW DO I SUBMIT A CLAIM?

To submit a claim under the manufacturer’s warranty, please email us ([email removed by eBay]) the information detailed below or complete the warranty claim form linked in our website footer at ozautomotives.com




STEP 1

We receive your claim with all the required supporting documentation.


STEP 2

Our warranty team assesses the claim.

STEP 3

An outcome is provided via email within three business days of the claim being submitted, unless further information or an assessment is required. Please note that a video call may be required to further assess your claim. Our warranty team will update you if this is required.

STEP 4

If a physical assessment is required, we will email you a shipping label that needs to be used to return the faulty part.


STEP 5

Once the faulty part is received by Oz Automotives, we assess the part and ensure the evidence supports the information provided by the customer in the claim. This process is completed within three business days of the faulty part being received.


STEP 6

Depending on the outcome of the claim, a replacement part is posted (subject to availability), or a refund is processed accordingly.


Please note that the law suggests a replacement over a refund. If a replacement is available, we are not required to provide the buyer with a refund. However, if a replacement is not available, a refund will be processed.


INCONCLUSIVE ASSESSMENT OF DEFECT

In the event that we are unable to assess the part to determine the cause of any defect, the purchaser will be responsible to provide evidence of the cause of the issue for warranty determination, at its expense. Oz Automotive may also engage experts to investigate the cause, at its discretion.




Once your claim has been processed, the three potential outcomes that you will receive are detailed below.


If the part requires physical inspection and needs to be returned to Oz Automotives, the final outcome post physical inspection will determine who incurs the cost of the return shipping fees.


If the final outcome is determined to be a result of a manufacturing defect, Oz Automotives will cover the fees to have the faulty item returned to Oz Automotives. This process is detailed further below.


  1. REPLACEMENT

If you still require the part, we may offer to provide you with a replacement. In this case, we will cover the delivery fees to have the replacement part delivered to you and the return shipping fees.


  1. REFUND

After assessing your claim, we may offer to provide you with a full refund if a replacement is not available. This will be refunded back into the same account that the funds were initially paid from.


  1. DENIED

If the root cause of the issue is not a manufacturing defect, your claim will be denied. In this event, the part will not be returned to you until the return shipping fee and re-shipping fee has been paid.


Please note that the above outcomes are in line with our obligations under Australian Consumer Law. We are not required to nor will we cover consequential losses such as mechanics fees (fitting, installation, or labor) or provide financial reimbursement for replacement goods purchased from another company, as these are not losses recoverable by law.

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO REQUEST A RETURN?


We have a 30-day return policy for change of mind of a part, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.


AM I ELIGIBLE FOR A RETURN?


To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it with no damage to the original packaging. All change of mind returns incur a restocking fee of 25% that will be subtracted from the total refund amount.


EXCHANGES


The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to make a separate purchase for the new item, and return the item you have. Once we have received it, we will inspect the item to ensure that the part is returned in the same condition it was sent. If so, the return will be accepted, and a refund processed back into your account.


Note: Depending on the reason for the exchange request, a restocking fee of 25% may be applied prior to your refund being processed.


WHAT IS THE RETURN PROCESS?


STEP 1

We receive your request in writing via email or eBay.


STEP 2

We review your request and ensure all the requirements are met. These requirements include the condition of the parts & packaging being the same as when it was delivered, and the delivery date being less than 30 days. We may ask for evidence of the condition of the part from you. The outcome of the review will determine what the next steps are in relation to shipping.


STEP 3

Following the necessary process (based on the categorization of the return) items are sent to Oz Automotives.


STEP 4

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected the part and update you on the outcome within three business days.

POTENTIAL OUTCOMES


There are two potential outcomes of your return request. We have listed these below for your reference.


  1. Approved – If the necessary requirements are met, your request will be approved. The return shipping fee will be subtracted from the refund amount, and then the refund processed via the

same payment method originally used to pay for the part.


  1. Declined – If the necessary requirements are not met, your request will be declined, and the part will not be returned to you until the return and reshipping fees are paid.
