Hi Mr Customer, Thanks for the question. The GM Car Door Jamb switches are adjustable. Not all cars have the same size Gap in the door jamb switch area. The switch is made long on purpose. The switch has a pressed inadjustable sleeve that goes down with the force of the door pushing the pin head down when first installed. The sleeve has to be a tight fit so it does not move after the correct height is set. That is why this door jamb switch may look a little longer than yours. I just checked a door jamb switch that I have here and the sleeve is very tight and requires a good amount of force
to make it slide down into the nut. You can also tap them down with a hammer carefully in a vise if you wish to set the height before the install. If you use the vise, Make sure you don't over squeeze the nut when holding it in the vise.I hope that helps you with the install.
Best Regards
