    Mechanism slips and does not engage

    It’s not well made and certainly not strong enough for this tailgate. The mechanisms don’t work. Where the two pieces are supposed to move to engage the arms to open the tailgate -one is bent and slips so that it doesn’t pull it and the handle doesn’t open one side of the tailgate. This is frustrating as we hardly ever ever use the tailgate but today we were stuck in a bad situation and I couldn’t get my truck open. I want a replacement with no charge.

    Acceptable Replacement

    If you don't want to spend on Delco, this is the part for you. The lock mechanism needs WD40 because it comes dry and hard to operate (OEM is like that too). The cable clips are of good quality. This is a Taiwan part, so it's a step above the Chinese $14 one. Recommended - works great.

    Great replacement part....

    Over all a great replacement part. I watched a few videos on youtube on how to make the repair. The only problem i had was the locking clips falling off in between the tailgate. Since i lost the clips i had to use extra strength zip ties to hold the tailgate rods in place.

    It fit but it broke within a couple months

    I bought this in April the delivery was fine the price was fine everything seemed fine I Install this the day I got it And by September it had cracked. Well yesterday in October I went to pull it it's snapped off hitting me in the eye and now making it extremely difficult to try to open the tailgate
