NO GOOD; This Key Doesn't Start the Car.
The key fob is no good. Bought this product few days back, swapped the chip from original old scion key , got the key cuts. unlocked the car with new key shell , inserted it into ignition, Turned key clockwise until you hear the starter motor start to spin.... every thing was perfect until this... but WAIT WAIT.... the engine wont start even after 100 spins. i tried it several times . But the car stats smoothly with the my original old key. I was surprised to learn from my mechanic that this replacement key wont start the car though it spins the motor because of a missing indentation the size of a 'dot' on the metal of the key The key fob is no good. Great replacement for the Original, Don't spend your money at the dealer, try these first.
Find yourself a locksmith to cut the keys, and you will have a better key than the original. Just replace your internal components from the original. You will not get the soft rubbery feel of the original but who cares. You get a nice quality feel and works as it should.. now one of the original keys (without the internals) will be the emergency key (I locked my key in the car) I recommend these, keys.. they worked great for my 2006 Scion TC.. Make sure its the right key for your vehicle before buying..Find yourself a locksmith to cut the keys, and you will have a better key than the original.
