New McLaren 600LT – Track Test

September 29th, 2018

Professional driver Steve Sutcliffe must have the best job on the planet. He drives some of the most sophisticated vehicles in the world on some of the most challenging courses in the world – and he gets paid for it.

Today, Steve gets the distinct pleasure of testing the new (2019) McLaren 600LT at the Hungaroring GP (near Budapest, Hungary).

In what is being billed as the most fulfilling S-car ever offered by McLaren, you will find increased power, downforce, and grip combined with a disgusting degree of carbon fiber body parts and aerodynamic accents. Under the hood; the 3.8-liter V8 now produces 592hp and 457 lb.-ft. of torque. It is equipped with a new ultra-short, top-exiting exhaust and an upgraded engine cooling system. Better brakes, stiffer engine mounts, quicker steering, increased accelerator response, and Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R rubber promise that the 600LT will attack the track like a mongoose on a cobra.

After putting the latest offering from the British automaker through her paces, Steve demonstrates his appreciation by simply stating that it is “something else.”

Have a good, long look.
