900HP Subaru – Journey to the 8-Second Quarter-Mile

I got mad respect for this father/son team representing Cuba. Pops has been a technician for more than sixty-years. He got junior started early in the engine building game and it’s finally paying off. The two have combined their resources on this 900hp Subaru with outstanding results. Like most of us, they are looking to shave time from their next pass down the strip. Today, these guys are looking for that elusive 8-second pass in the quarter-mile. Their 2005 Subaru WRX STi is a work of art. With hundreds of passes in the books, this Fuji Heavy Industries stud comes Read More

Fast Fred – 5-Second Chevrolet C10

Meet Fast Fred (I personally like Five-Second Fred better, but I don’t get to pick the names). Fast Fred is from Stockholm, Sweden (not Alabama). He is campaigning the 1966 Chevrolet C10 pickup that his father used to pick him up from school. He bought the truck from Dad when he was nineteen and it has been an example in the evolution of speed ever since. Fred is quite a character and his truck is unforgettable. Most of the patina on the truck exterior is man-made but it has been in a shop fire. Fred almost lost everything until the Read More

2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Weight and 1/4 Mile Estimate

Ford released the official weight of the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 today. In this video I compare the GT500 against the Dodge Challenger Red Eye and Demon and estimate what the GT500 might run down the 1/4 Mile.

10-Second Acura NSX – Track Dig and Roll

So, many among us are guilty of overlooking (underestimating) the Acura NSX. I know that I am one such individual. In an effort to say oops to the vaunted Japanese car giant (Honda), this post will focus on a 2017 Acura NSX which has undergone only tuning mods. Can the little mid-engine (hybrid) roadster stand up to the track test? Today, it’s drag racing and roll racing. Let’s have a look. In the first pass of the video, this Mustang sounds exactly like a power saw. I don’t know what one must do to make his car sound like a Read More

Turbo Porsche – 9-Second Quarter-Mile

Greetings drag racing fans. Allow me to introduce you to Richard Martin and his one-owner Porsche. Even though this car looks like a killer of curves, it will run through the quarter-mile like a scalded dog. Let’s get with Richard and have him give us a run-down of the car. First of all, it’s a 2016 Porsche 911 Turbo S with a stock motor. What makes it special is a ByDesign Stage 4 Kit which includes intercoolers with an IPD intake and plenum. It also has ByDesign tuning and a methanol injection. The turbochargers are upgraded, but details are hazy. Read More

900HP 6.5L V12 Ferrari 812 Superfast Testing

We test out an incredible Ferrari 812 Superfast modified by Wheels Boutique with IPE race exhaust, no cats along with a custom on the dyno tune by Dynospectrum. From the factory the Ferrari 812 Superfast makes 788 HP from it’s naturally aspirated 6.5L V12 and after the modifications it’s making a debatable 900HP depending on how you calculate the drivetrain losses.

Domestic Street Beasts – Highway Hits

It’s time again to head out to the interstate (of Mexico) with a group of tier one street (roll) racers. These guys boast some of the baddest purpose-built roll racing machines in the nation. Saddle up! Fresh out of the gate, we have a twin turbo Gen VI Camaro against a turbo LS Mustang (so, basically two Camaros). The Mustang falters on the hit and can’t continue. A Fox Body with a turbo Coyote motor takes his place. Looks like the Ford got him but it’s difficult to say for certain. Next up is a closer look at the previously Read More
